This is my commentary regarding how Capitalism and Freedom encourages accountability in social and business interactions versus how Statism and Force encourages recklessness in social and business interactions. My commentary regarding accountability comes first, followed by my commentary regarding recklessness.
ACCOUNTABILITY under CAPITALISM and FREEDOM
Capitalism and Freedom encourages and promotes private voluntary, peaceful cooperation between free and unregulated individuals, associations, organizations, and businesses. Because of this, it is my opinion that, as a social-political-economic system, Capitalism overall encourages, promotes, and awards ACCOUNTABILITY in all social interactions and relationships, individual and/or business – from private to governmental in nature.
When I say that Capitalism and Freedom encourages, promotes, and awards accountability, I mean that Capitalism and Freedom encourages, promotes, and awards peaceful interactions between individuals and businesses that are rational, honest, responsible, liable, vigilant, and careful, as well as reliable, answerable, amenable, and trustworthy.
As an example, simply witness the financial health and stability of those private financial institutions and banks that did not engage in “subprime lending” (meaning irresponsible) mortgage activities, avoiding coercive government interference and manipulation in their financial and business activities and practices.
RECKLESSNESS under STATISM and FORCE
Statism and Force encourages and promotes state (government or ruling group) induced coercive and forced involuntary association and conflict between controlled, regulated, and enslaved individuals, associations, organizations, and businesses. Because of this, it is my opinion that, as a social-political-economic system, Statism overall discourages, shuns, and even punishes ACCOUNTABILITY in all social interactions and relationships, individual and/or business – from private to governmental in nature.
When I say that Statism and Force discourages, shuns, and punishes accountability, I mean that Statism and Force instead encourages, promotes, and awards the antithesis of accountability – that is, Statism and Force encourages, promotes, and awards coercive interactions between individuals and businesses that are irrational, dishonest, irresponsible, blameless (unaccountable), reckless, and negligent, as well as unreliable, unanswerable, averse, and untrustworthy.
As an example, simply witness such recent events as the entire, current (2008) financial debacle, crisis, and disaster of the government created Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac “subprime lending” mortgage mess, the U.S. Congress and Presidential supported 700 billion dollar bailout to financial institutions and banks, the proposed bailout aide to the American Auto Industry and its coercive Union, and including such statist-oriented tactics as the proposed reinstatement of the “Fairness Doctrine,” used to destroy property rights and the freedom of speech, thus squashing the competition of ideas through government force.
